Who are we...

DeLalio Sod Farms has been a grower and wholesale seller of high-quality turfgrass for the past 40 years.  In addition to supplying the finest sod grown, we handle an extensive line of lawn related products.   We custom mix sod quality grass seed blends, we have our own premium line of fertilizers, and we supply lawn control products, hydro seeding materials, topsoil, mulches, and other lawn care goods to landscape professionals.   For a more detailed description of the products we offer, visit the products page.

Our beautiful sod is grown at any one of the four DeLalio Farms on some of the best mineral soil found on Long Island, namely 1400 acres of Haven and Riverhead loam.

During the time that the sod is developing, it receives the best cultural practices that can be provided.  This includes irrigation and the application of high quality fertilizers and an intense Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program.

The finest and purest seed in the United States, certified and tested by independent seed testing laboratories, is used to produce the highest quality turf, standard in the DeLalio fields.  The varieties are carefully and critically evaluated in DeLalio field test plots and only the hardiest ones that will develop into healthy, naturally green lawns are used in our sod production.

Our proven varieties are blended to suit the needs of the customer and the environment.  These blends produce a turf with the greatest resistance to insects, disease and heavy wear.  They have low water and low nitrogen requirements and good shade tolerance.  Our turf is a premium quality sod which thrives on many types of prepared soils to meet a wide variety of needs, from a home lawn to a professional athletic field or a heavily played golf course.

The same products that have proven successful in our fields are also readily available to you at our DIX HILLS and CALVERTON yards.  Our ability to buy and store in wholesale quantities enables us to pass along tremendous savings to you on seed, fertilizer, and professional turfgrass materials.  Early orders may qualify for pre-season prices.

Our CALVERTON yard (L.I.E. Exit 71 Eastbound only) is an excellent pick-up point for Eastern Long Island customers.

Business Hours

Mon.-Fri. 7am to 5pm; Sat 7am to 1pm.  Please place your orders well in advance.  Cancellations or changes due to bad weather or other reasons should be made as soon as possible.

Terms

• All deliveries and pick-ups are treated as Collect On Delivery.  Cash or certified check is accepted.
• Business checks are accepted only with prior approval.
• Payments with credit or debit cards (American Express, Master Card & Visa) must be made in our office prior to delivery.
• Established credit line account terms are Net 30 days.  A 1.5% per month finance charge is added to any balance due over 30 days.
